True Justice Requires the Full Story
Our legal system is rarely black-and-white, but a complex mixture of gray shades. Every case and every defendant are unique, and require a unique understanding to ensure the most fair and equitable outcome.
There are many factors that affect the development of a person, and whether those factors are positive or negative could have a significant impact on how a defendant is viewed by their jury.
This is the job of a mitigation expert on the defense team; to learn everything possible about the defendant and their personal circumstances that may have contributed to the offense they have been charged with. By creating a better understanding of each defendant's personal challenges, juries are better able to determine the appropriate sentence during the punishment phase of a trial.
We have very close working relationships with several mitigation experts, to help tell the whole story.
